The Heart

We learnt that ...
The heart never gets tired.
The heart pumps the blood.
It is as big as our fist.
It pumps around 10 000 times a day.
It works even when we are sleeping.
It is inside our chest by our lungs.

Here are our pictures of Room 2 and bees.

We made these pretty pictures. We used dyes and vivids to make them colourful.

The maori words are Ko wai to ingoa. This means what is your name.

We answer by saying "Ko _____ahau" which is "my name is _____."

We made these buzzy bees with coloured foil so they shine. Each bee is telling us how we can be a friend.

Our class is little at the moment but we will be growing soon as new children start school.

Our school has a colourful mural. It is nice and bright. It has penguins and birds on it.

Shape Pictures

We are learning to make shapes. Our shape pictures look pretty and they look great on the wall. We are good at making shapes. By Krystal, Gabrielle and Taylor.

Our Art based on Georgia O'Keeffe

We have been looking at the american artist Georgia O'Keeffe. She liked to paint flowers and she painted them BIG! We have painted pansies , lavendar and sunflowers. We tried mixing colours and observing shapes closely. Here are a some of our pansies being painted. Our sunflowers look great too. They are up in our classroom.We thought about a good colour to paint in the background so our flowers would stand out.
